Program Overview
The Lighthouse Christian Athletics Track & Field program is designed to guide all students to improve as individuals physically, mentally and spiritually through the sport of Track & Field. Our primary objective is to teach them how to glorify God in their actions, words and character by using the gifts in which God has given each of them.
We are committed to acting in a manner that reflects Christ. How we act off the field is just as important as how we act on the field. Our main physical goal is to improve ourselves from where we begin to where we end in the season. We can do this by consistent practice and competing with others that push us to compete at a higher level.
This program can be used for self-improvement as well as competing at a higher level with a more serious focus. The coaching staff is committed to assist each individual with their goals along-side the encouragement from the parents. Communication is key with the coaching staff in what each athletes’ goals are for the season.

8U: 7/8 - Elementary
10U: 9/10 - Elementary
12U: 11/12 - Elementary
14U: 13/14 - Junior High
16U: 15/16 - Senior High
18U: 17/18 - Senior High

Registration Fees
Elementary: 8U-12U $50
Junior High: 14U $150
High School: 16U-18U $175

Eligibility
Who can participate in Chargers Track & Field?
ELIGIBILITY: Please review the eligibility requirements found in the LCA Registration Policy.
Age
What ages are eligible to participate?
The Chargers Track and Field teams are made up of athletes between the ages of 7 and 18.
Where
Where are practices and meets typically held?
Practices are held at the Republic Middle School track. All meets, including the Chargers' home meet, will take place at various locations in the area.
When
What time of year does this program run?
An information video will be posted on this page soon. Practices begin February 23, 2026. The season will conclude with Nationals May 12-14 in Jefferson City.
Insurance
Do I need insurance?
Yes. The team only carries a general liability policy, you must have your own medical insurance.
Practices
What is your typical practice schedule?
The practices will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:45 PM to 7:30 PM.
Meets
How many meets are in a typical week?
You can expect 1-2 meets per week.
Uniforms
Are uniforms included in registration or are they an additional fee?
Beginning 2026, families will purchase their uniform and team tee. You will not be required to purchase a new uniform each year (unless your athlete loses or grows out of it).
After registration, you will receive a link to order from the team store. The cost is estimated to be between $75 - $100.
Equipment
What additional equipment is required?
- Tennis shoes are required
- High school has the option of also purchasing spikes
- Proper attire for weather conditions
Other Costs
What additional costs might I incur?
- Travel costs (fuel, food, and sometimes lodging, depending on location)
- Optional fanwear for athletes, friends, and family
Travel
How much overnight travel can I expect?
Optional, possibly necessary, during Nationals since it will be held in Jeff City, if the athlete or family needs to attend all 3 days.
Parental Involvement
What are the volunteer expectations?
Lighthouse Christian Chargers is a volunteer organization. Each family is expected to contribute to the betterment of the program.
The typical areas of need for Track and Field include Coaching, helping with stations at practice AND meets, Photography, Video, Fundraisers, Concessions, Fanwear, Social Media, Special Events (year-end parties, banquets)

The Lighthouse Christian Chargers Homeschool Track & Field Team is for athletes 8U-18U.
Full refund minus fees* before Friday, March 6th. Partial refund minus fees until Friday, March 20th. No refund after March 20th.
*A 5% administrative fee and processing fees will be deducted from all refunds.
